San Antonio Film Festival
San Antonio Film Festival
The 32nd Annual SAFILM–San Antonio Film Festival returns Tuesday, July 21 through Sunday, July 26, 2026 and we are actively seeking bold, original voices from Asian filmmakers to be part of this dynamic celebration of cinema.
As the largest film festival in South Texas, SAFILM draws filmmakers, industry professionals, and film lovers from across the Lone Star State and around the world. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to create meaningful educational and networking opportunities for filmmakers of all backgrounds and experience levels, while giving audiences access to extraordinary films they might not otherwise have the chance to see.
In 2026, SAFILM is expanding with more events than ever before. The festival will showcase over 30 feature-length films and approximately 250 short films spanning every genre; complete with engaging filmmaker Q&A sessions. Categories include narrative features, documentaries, shorts, live action, animation, children’s films, and local, regional, national, and international cinema. Whether you are an emerging storyteller or an established director, SAFILM provides a vibrant platform to share your work with an enthusiastic and diverse audience.
Beyond the screenings, the festival experience is designed to educate, connect, and inspire. Attendees can participate in two full days of free educational panels featuring respected industry professionals. Past panels have included Academy Award–winning producer Frederick Ried Roos (The Godfather: Part II, The Conversation, Apocalypse Now), whose work helped define the New Hollywood era. Acclaimed producer Marion Rosenberg (“The Deer Hunter,” “Revolutionary Road”) joined editor Anne Goursaud (“Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” “A Classy Broad”) to discuss the art of cinema and Hollywood then-and-now. Legendary producer Marcia Nasatir (“The Big Chill,” “Rocky,” “Carrie,” “Apocalypse Now”) has also shared invaluable insights on building a lasting career in show business.
The 2026 program will also feature screenwriting competitions, networking socials, and a celebratory awards ceremony—creating countless opportunities to build relationships, spark collaborations, and advance careers.
SAFILM is more than a festival, it’s a community where filmmakers connect, learn, and thrive. We invite Asian filmmakers to bring their unique stories, perspectives, and creative visions to South Texas and be part of an unforgettable week of film, education, and inspiration.
