ORION International Film Festival (ORION IFF) is an independent, live-screening film festival dedicated to thoughtfully curated cinema and the shared experience of film in a public setting.Founded in Australia over a decade ago, ORION IFF presents a selective programme of international narrative and documentary films to engaged audiences. The festival focuses on original, human-centred stories that demonstrate strong cinematic language, clear creative intent, and emotional resonance.Programming is deliberate and considered, prioritising films that explore the human condition through character, observation, and place. Selection favours works that balance storytelling and visual craft with overall cinematic cohesion, and that are suited to attentive cinema exhibition.Films are reviewed through a curated judging process led by the ORION IFF programming team and an international jury, informed by industry experience and practical programming considerations.ORION IFF maintains a selective acceptance rate of approximately 10–12 percent, and not all categories are awarded each year.ORION IFF welcomes submissions from filmmakers worldwide and encourages entries from emerging filmmakers across Asia and the international film community.Encouraging Submissions from ChinaORION International Film Festival welcomes submissions from filmmakers across China and the broader Asian region. Chinese cinema has produced some of the most visually distinctive and culturally rich storytelling in contemporary film, and ORION IFF values the opportunity to present these voices to international audiences. The festival encourages submissions from emerging and established Chinese filmmakers whose work demonstrates strong cinematic craft, cultural perspective, and thoughtful storytelling.
