Festival ECRÃ
FESTIVAL ECRÃ is an Experimental Art and Cinema event that, through experiences that question the notion and production of the moving image, seeks to stimulate audiovisual culture. By showing Films, Games, Installations and Videoarts, ECRÃ encourages new formats for the production and exhibition of these works.
This project arose in 2016 from the desire to question the film industry and its “primordial elements” and to give space for filmmakers and artists to experiment freely in audiovisual production and thinking.
Over the years we have works from all parts of the world and presence of names like James Benning, Luis Grané, Ken Jacobs, Paula Gaitán, Julio Bressane, Luiz Rosemberg Filho, Seyeong Yoon, Gastón Solnicki, Geraldo Sarno, among others veterenas and new creators.

Feature and Medium-Length Films
Films that do not reach the usual exhibition circuit or festivals and shows to the public that cinema goes beyond the standard found in the mass film industry. Eligible Works: Avant garde, Experimental, Structural cinema, Different and Free cinema. Long-Length: duration of 60 minutes or more. Medium-Length: duration between 40 and 60 minutes.

Games and Creative Codes
Electronic games are works with interaction, premise, objective. It is an important tool for storytelling, innovation, entertainment and technology. Selected Works in this Category will be displayed in the Online Step. Eligible Works: Experimental games, Videogames for PC, Mobile and other devices.

Installations and Interactive Arts
Immersive, concrete works, practical effects, different media and technologies that use space, artifacts such as glasses, objects or different screens. Works that depend on a specific space, object or platform to exist. Works that are interactive via buttons, screens, mouse, touch, entry, circulation, devices. New forms of interactivity with video, film, space, sculpture, lights and projection. Eligible Works: The Works consist but are not restricted to Interactive Installations, Immersive Installations, Multi-Media Installations, Video Arts, Virtual Reality (VR), 360° videos, new media, interactive arts, hybridizations and other types of Installation, Interactivity, Celphone projects, other formats.

Videoarts and New Media
Everything and not restricted to video forms that don't fit into the other Categories. Videoarts are forms of video that do not need a specific object or place to be experienced, they can be seen on any screen or device. Focused on digital files that can be viewed online, but not restricted to that. Looped video, the non-cinema, internet experimentation like gifs, memes. Video forms that, on screen, are not dependent on space or external manipulation. Selected Works in this Category will be displayed in the Online Stage. Eligible Works: Video art, looping videos, gifs, internet videos, video files. Artificial Intelligence Works, etc.
