Bistrița România International Film Festival (BRIFF) continues to offer a platform for filmmakers worldwide to showcase their work. Over the past two editions, we’ve hosted screenings in locations such as the historic Teleki Castle, Gallery Garden, and Soho Music Hall. This year, we are expanding into new, unconventional spaces, offering audiences a fresh and dynamic festival experience across multiple settings.

In 2024, we screened 44 films from around the world. For 2025, we will select 50 films, which will be showcased during the main festival or at special film evenings leading up to the event.

In addition to our film screenings, we’ve introduced a new Screenwriting Competition for short films. The top five scripts will be read and discussed by students from Bucharest Playhouse Acting School, with the screenwriters' consent.

All winners will receive official laurels and a category-specific achievement certificate following the live event.

ALL TECHNICAL AND PERFORMANCE CATEGORIES ARE FREE TO ENTER WHEN SUBMITTING A FILM TO ANY COMPETITION.
