Carmarthen Bay Film Festival
Carmarthen Bay Film Festival
Welcome to the Carmarthen Bay Film Festival (CBFF), the highly
respected BAFTA British Short Film Competition Qualifying Festival, BIFA
(British Independent Film Awards), BAFTA Cymru/Wales, BAFTA Scotland
and IMDb Qualifying Festival.
CBFF is held in person every year in Llanelli, west Wales, as well as
screened online. Over the course of 4 days in May, we screen around 130
independent films from Wales, the UK and all over the world, as well as
holding special and industry-specific events and closing with a
wonderful awards night.
Since its inception in 2012, the festival's core mission has been to
champion independent film-making in Wales and beyond. Our goal is to
unite filmmakers, industry professionals, students, and film
enthusiasts, encouraging a vibrant community that is passionate about
the art of cinema.
Why submit your film to CBFF?
CBFF is a BAFTA and BIFA qualifying festival. This means that if your
film is screened at CBFF and you meet their eligibility criteria, you
are well on the way to being able to submit your film to BAFTA and BIFA.
We are also an IMDb-qualifying festival.
One of the major strengths of the festival is that we screen a lot of
films- on average 130 films over 4 days and whether you’re submitting a
short film or a feature, you may have the opportunity to see your work
on the big screen.
We are a festival run by filmmakers, for filmmakers and we know what
is important to you, from rising stars and those starting out in the
world of film, to seasoned professionals. We hold networking events,
‘Meet the Commissioners’ sessions and Q&A talks with other industry
professionals that are always well-received and valued.
In addition to the in-person festival, selected films are also
screened on our online platform and many of the events are
live-streamed.
